Facilities
Here at Choo Choo's we aim to provide a friendly and inviting environment, for the children to learn and develop in. The staff at Choo Choo's are sensitive and compassionate to the needs of each individual child.
We cater for children from 12 weeks to school age so we have split our facilities between these ages.
Babies (0-2) Years
Individual attention, hugs and play from our Nursery Practitioners is of utmost importance to our babies. With sensitive care and a daily routine that is agreed with our parents, babies soon settle. Their Key person will provide a warm, stimulating and caring environment, allowing each individual to begin learning and exploring their exciting new world.
Toddlers (2-3) Years
Children at this age are able to manage their own learning and follow the lead of their own play without needing the support of nursery practitioners. We will help them to be considerate towards others, encouraging good behaviour and an understanding of what is expected of them. We provide a range of resources and activities that will help them to value difference, to value each other and help them to form close relationships with others.
Pre-School (3-5) Years
Children at this age are able to manage their own learning and follow the lead of their own play without needing the support of nursery practitioners. We will help them to be considerate towards others, encouraging good behaviour and an understanding of what is expected of them. We provide a range of resources and activities that will help them to value difference, to value each other and help them to form close relationships with others.
Meal Times
We provide breakfast and tea, however we ask that packed lunches are provided at home for lunch times.
However we do have a fully equipped kitchen, that has been inspected and passed with 5 stars by environmental health. Our kitchen is used to bake and create with the children. For example, we make bread, cookies and cakes with the children throughout the year.
We are keen for the children to be involved in cooking, so regularly plan activities for the children to cook, promoting British Values by creating dishes from around the world for the children to enjoy!
Outdoor Play
Here at Choo Choo's we love outdoor play, we actively encourage the children to explore and learn about the outdoors. The children will dig, run, splash and ride around in our outdoor area. We have an open door policy at nursery, so the children are able to use the garden, come rain or shine!
